Catching Up With Outsourcing Trends
Outsourcing has been a trend going on for quite a number of
years already but the industry started booming when large
companies relocated their call centers to off shore service
providers. The slow but steady recovery of economies around the
world will result in the carrying on of postponed outsourcing
deals. The International Association of Outsourcing
Professionals (IAOP) has listed a few trends that can be
expected from outsourcing this year.
Outsourcing was the best idea formulated five years ago.
Call centers were growing like mushrooms everywhere most especially in the
Asia-Pacific region. Because many have doubted the need
for outsourcing, it was evident that there was a slowing
down of its development?”. Outsourcing is back this year
and is a whole a lot bigger than before! Outsourcing has
given companies and corporations something to think about
rather than just see outsourcing as a means of saving time
and money because they now see that it also can improve
dramatically how business operations are done and it
enables companies to focus on the more important aspects
of running their businesses. India and the Philippines
were at the forefront of the Asia-Pacific region as the
center of the outsourcing business before. Asiap-pacific
regions will start seeing more and more competition
arising from different regions.
South American countries such as Brazil is one of the major
contenders in the offshore business industry. Numerous
locations throughout Central and South America are also slowly
becoming more open to accepting the outsourcing needs of
developed nations. The rising competition from other locations
will definitely be felt by India and its effect can be felt in
their share of offshore opportunities. The increase on
competition between emerging locations like Central and South
America and more established locations like India will lead to
drive differentiation. training and certification will now be
provided and used by countries to ensure that they stay ahead
of the competition. According to the IAOP, it will be the small
and midsize companies leading the way in outsourcing this 2010.
Most of the larger corporation have already outsourced what
they can years ago but may still be considering outsourcing
more products and services.
Since larger companies are still planning how to meet the
business and technical challenges that lie ahead, other
compnaies will have to wait until the larger copanies make
their move and start outsourcing again. Other outsourcing
processes that will make a return will be the information and
technology process but it is unlikely that it will be too
resurgent. The IT outsourcing numbers are not expected to be
anywhere near the numbers of the pre-economic crisis years of
2008. Outsourcing is going to meet a lot of challenges in the
year 2010 most especially for the suppliers and providers of
outsourcing businesses.
